The Howling Boutique's SuperMoon Lacquer's Ready to Launch Collection

Press Sample

Ugh I hate when my internet keeps me from blogging!
Anyway I have for you all today a brand new indie polish brand! It's Supermoon Lacquer from The Howling Boutique.

The very first collection is called Ready To  Launch, with a total of 9 colors in all there is something for everyone!
Are you ready for some swatches? Besides swatches I also have the meaning behind each name too so you all get to learn something cool & see pretty polish all in 1 blog post:)

Polar Light,
A light green scattered holographic with subtle gold-to-green color shifting shimmer and a smidge of blue-to-green iridescent microglitters.
Name Meaning: A natural light display in the sky, predominantly seen in the high latitude (Arctic and Antarctic) regions. The effect is known as the aurora borealis (or the northern lights) in northern latitudes, and it's southern counterpart is called the aurora australis (or the southern lights).

Indoor lighting
Star Cloud,
A bright aqua blue with gold-to-green color shifting shimmer and gold and turquoise sparkle.

Names After:Also known as 'star clusters', are groups of stars with two types being distinguishable: globular clusters (tight groups of hundreds or thousands of very old stars which are gravitationally bound) and open clusters (very young stars in loosely clustered groups of less than few hundred).

One drawback with Star Cloud, when removing it stained my skin so that was a little disappointing.

Stellar Stream,
A bright bubblegum pink with a strong turquoise-to-purple color shifting shimmer.

Named After: An association of stars orbiting a galaxy, once a globular cluster (a spherical collection of stars that orbits a galactic core as a satellite) or dwarf galaxy (a small galaxy composed of up to several billion stars), that's been torn apart and stretched out along its orbit by tidal forces.

Rose Nebula,
holographic duochrome with a subtle color shift from bright pink to red-orange.

Named After:A large, spherical region measuring roughly 50 light years in diameter that is located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy and roughly 5,000 light years from Earth.

Outside Lighting.
Unfortunlety I only have outside lighting picture because I accidentally deleted them & when I went to swatch it again my dog got in my polish and Rose Nebula is currently MIA:(
But seriously isn't it pretty?
Cosmic Dust,
A  multichrome shimmer that shifts in color from red-violet, to magenta, to a red-orange.

Named After:Dust which exists in outer space and can be further distinguished by its location: intergalactic, interstellar, interplanetary, and circumplanetary. An annoyance to astronomers at first who then discovered it could do amazing things like actually create and form entire planets.

Mystic Mountain, A strong multichrome,  that shifts in color from green, to blue-purple, to red

Named After:A region observed in the Carina Nebula where newly formed stars fire off gas jets from within the peaks of this towering dust pillar and is located roughly 7,500 light years from Earth.. or, roughly, forty-five thousand trillion (that’s 45,000,000,000,000,000) miles away. It was imaged in 2010, during the Hubble Space Telescope’s 20th anniversary.

Tidal Disruption,
A dark teal green with gold-to-green color shifting shimmer and gold, turquoise, and green sparkle

Named After: An astronomical phenomenon which occurs when a star gets too close to a supermassive black hole's event horizon. It’s then actually pulled apart by the black hole's tidal forces and the star experiences what’s called spaghettification (I swear that’s the real scientific term they use).

Inside Lighting

Pistol Star, A holographic duochrome with a strong color shift from bright blue to vibrant purple.

Named After: A blue hypergiant – a really bright star showing signs of losing mass at a very high rate – that’s named after and illuminates the Pistol Nebula. Both are located about 25,000 light years away from Earth in the Quintuplet cluster. The Pistol Star is one of the most luminous stars in the Milky Way and radiates as much energy in 20 seconds as the Sun can in an entire year.

Inside Lighting

Galactic Holo,
An orchid-purple scattered holographic with blue undertones and strong violet-to-blue color shifting shimmer.

Named After:An extended, roughly spherical part of a galaxy which extends beyond the main body and is comprised of several distinct components: the galactic spheroid (stars), the galactic corona (hot gas or plasma), and the dark matter halo (effects the motions of the galaxy's stars and gas).

For all 9 colors I used 2 coats plus 1 coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl Topcoat.
Besides the staining from Star Cloud I was very happy with these polishes and would definitely use these for nail art in the future.

The Ready To Lauch Collection is availible for preorder now thru May 31 at
Prices are $8-$11 depending of the finsh & $75 for the full set.
